Another victorious day, despite intermittent grumpiness from the kiddos!
- art session at Sabot for Griff this morning. I can't wait to see the cups they decorated at the auction and wonder if my checking account will survive the experience.
- Reese and I had an hour to burn and attempted a Barnes and Noble date. We had severe differences of opinion over a butterfly cookie, dodged a tantrum, enjoyed a shortbread cookie, then ended up caught in extreme tantrum mode over the butterfly. B&N date aborted. Ran into a Sabot acquaintance at B&N mid-tantrum, though, which was a nice moment (see previous entry about feeling at home in Richmond, finally).
- stayed and played at school after the art project. Spontaneous playdate with Ada and her mom, Nga, who offered to do a bagel run for us and eat together! Goodness, do I ever appreciate gestures like this these days. :) Griff was initially grumpy about staying on the playground (he wanted to go mulch-diving) but eventually relented and gave in to bagel-y goodness and playing cops-and-robbers with Ada and Nga.
- another playground date at Crump Park with Danielle (Reese's babysitter) and her daughter Catherine.
All said and done, 5+ hours out of the house. Not too shabby! Add to this the fact that I'm learning the value of having as many phone numbers stored in your cell as possible; while out and about, I called Wyldology and snagged an appointment for Saturday with my friend Melissa. Triple score: "me" time, visiting with a friend, and haircut, all in one. Not sure what to do with my hair yet, but it needs a cut. Oct was my last appointment and my hair is LONG and styleless. Whattaya think, short, spiky, and blue?
Today is (almost) done. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.
