Dan glanced out the window and exclaimed that there was a rainbow - we stepped out onto the porch and were amazed by what we saw: the end of a summer thunderstorm had combined with the setting sun to make a brilliant, full-arc, double rainbow. Dan rushed to get Griff, who had just headed up to bed. The three of us stood in awe. Griff is certain that there is a pot at the end of the rainbow with a fairy under it. Dan is certain that it's the most spectacular rainbow he's ever seen. (It ties for first for me with one I saw in Nevada when I was 12.)
It's incredible how a moment like this might be something you remember for the rest of your life, because it might not have happened at all. I felt really fortunate that Dan saw it, and that we could share it with Griff.
