I've been looking forward to putting up our family's advent calendar for weeks, and the big day is almost here! My husband's mother made it in the late '70s, I think, and in addition to being a fun vintage piece (felt and glitter and sequins, oh my!) and reminding him of his childhood, now it's a tradition in our family and something that ties my boys to their father and their grandparents.
Friends have been talking about their advent calendar plans and I love the idea of having a piece of paper each day with an activity on it. I wish I had more time to make something, like this gorgeous reusable fabric-link chain, to use in addition to our felt wall calendar, but with December starting tomorrow, I don't think it's happening this year! (Ok, maybe just paper links?)
