This photo was taken while still under the spell of yesterday's word. I assumed I'd have plenty of opportunity to find something tasty at a potluck evening with girlfriends. There were, indeed, plenty of opportunities, but I was much more interested in the opportunity to chat and relax than in taking photos. At some point after we'd all nibbled our hearts out and wandered away from the feast, I remembered the camera and I have to admit, I simply half-heartedly snapped a few shots before getting back to what mattered most.
This Kahlua truffle (handmade by Cheri) was a tasty morsel, but tastier still was the evening and the women that surrounded it. You can get just a teeny glimpse of them in the background.
When I left the house earlier that night, Griff was fixing himself a snack and documenting it. Warm applesauce (zapped by the snacker himself) and peanut butter crackers, yum. When I asked what changes, if any, he would like to make to his photo, he requested that I add a checkered border "like the kind on race cars."
I'm blown away by his dedication to this project! It never occurred to me that a kid would want to undertake something like a 365. It's so much fun to have a partner and to bounce ideas off each other and see what each word means to the other person. Today I was reading my friend Anna's Atelierista blog and was reminded of how much I appreciate the impact his former preschool has had on him and on me!
