Back on the horse, camera in hand!
Reese has been showing a lot of big-brotherly effort with Xander lately. He knows that I'm not a huge fan of people stomping on the tulips that are just starting to come up, so he puts an arm around his little brother and guides him away from the flower beds. He invites him to play games together, he helps him find the Curious George clip he wants to see on the computer, he distributes snacks between them. He has also been showing concern for his safety - corralling him when he starts to run into the road, leading Xander back to me when he thinks he has wandered too far away on the playground.
Xander isn't always a fan of his big brother's protection, but it's fostering a sense of comraderie between them that is new and exciting, and perhaps one of my favorite parts of parenting multiple children.
