Virtuousness and temptation. I've given in to the latter far too often (hooray for a congenital sweet tooth!) and have gained 15 lbs over the past year. Time to exercise a little more discipline. Today is day 2 of keeping strict records of what I'm eating. I found this to be helpful three years ago in rewiring my idea of what a serving of breakfast cereal should look like, and what an appropriate number of calories and grams of protein feels like spread across a day. Just like last time, I'm going to use SparkPeople to log meals and snacks for a week or two until I get back into a less-snack-y groove.
It's not easy when my friendly neighborhood Girl Scout showed up with my order today, or when Griff says the first thing to pop into his head after hearing todays' word is miniature cookies. I'm allowing myself two. Just two. Cookies, not sleeves of them. Wish me luck, the spirit is willing but the flesh is oh so very weak!
(Although in virtue's defense, that yellow bell pepper was AWESOME.)
